This through-hardened 1060 steel is excellent for functional katanas and are properly tempered. This steel is especially resilient to stress and will be merciful with an inferior technique. This steel is very durable and ideal for tameshigiri. The blade is not differential hardened and shows no hamon.

This blade has a Bo-Hi  makes a strong whistling noise when swung down and is an ideal sword for martial arts practice which requires a sharp blade.

The Tsuka is covered with real same (rayskin) and wrapped with Japanese Silk. For safety the tsuka has two bamboo pins (mekugi).  One the pictures you can see black same, we have not only white same in stock. 

The Menuki is made of brass. 

The Kashira and Fuchi are also made of blackened iron and match the penji tsuba. 

The excellent blackened saya includes a nice Japanese Silk Sageo. 

Of course this katana comes with a nice sword bag.
