Nodachi

€799.00

An nodachi of field sword was a type of traditionally made Japanese sword used by the samurai class of feudal Japan.

This Huanuo Nodachi sword is made of 1060 high carbon steel with a polished mirror-like surface. The blade is handforged, heat treated and throughardened which gives it great strength and flexibility.

The blade is full tang with with silk Ito, genuine same' (rayskin), iron fittings, and black matte wood saya.

One use of the nodachi was to fight from horseback. Often it was used in place of a polearm because the length of it's blade made it perfect for cutting down an enemy and his horse in one fell swoop.
