The woodprints are a collaborative process between the artist, wooden sculptor, printer and publisher. The woodprints from Japan were made with a technique called ukiyo-e from loose sheets, but was also used for books. It took off especially during the Edo period (1603-1868). The beautiful Japanese prints with water-based ink offer a wide range of vibrant scenes, colors and composition.
