Practical Koto Katana
Hanwei designed the Practical Koto series for the practitioner who want to cut with a quickly, good balanced and strong blade with a suguta who has its origin in Koto period.
The Koto blades are handforged and throughardened 5160 high Carbon springsteel and heat treated to create a blade with great tolerance and high resilience.
The shape of the Japanese sword that is mostly seen today first appears during the mid-Kamakura during Koto. The Practical Koto blades have still a relative deep Sori and are shorter than those of earlier times.
