Wooden Hokkaido Oak Bokken

What is Japanese Hokkaido oak?

The Hokkaido oak, which grows strongly and can withstand the wind and snow of the cold north, can grow up to 35 meters in height and some trees are more than 1000 years old. The oak and its properties have been thoroughly researched and the wooden swords are carefully finished one by one by skilled craftsmen in the company's own specialized wood workshop.

These Japanese bokken or bokuto are very old and were and are used to train safely and quickly raise your level. The real Samurai in ancient Japan used this for training and in the hands of a trained warrior this is also a dangerous weapon.

Depending on the style and personal preference, weight, balance, stability and feel touch are relevant aspects on which you can judge a bokken.

*Due to the nature of the material, the weight is indicative and may vary.

*Wooden Bokken are very strong BUT a tool for practicing martial arts, hitting it very hard can damage it, whether it is made of wood or steel. If you intend to use it for abuse, we recommend a non-traditional but extremely durable, affordable heavy- duty polypropylene bokken.

*Due to concerns about the health of our craftsmen in the wooden workshop, varnish will be replaced by wax for the finishing of all wooden weapons.
