This Bokuto is made of selected high quality Sunuke, very old wood  Japanese wood, all sourced locally by the Aramaki workshop.

The Deluxe bokuto features a flat spine and kashira for a simple and practical appearnace.

It is ideal for use in the nihon Kendo no Kata, Aikido Aikiken practice and sogo bujutsu styles that require an authentic stlye bokuto.

Sunuke is a very rare and expensive wood obtained from the center core of old and rotten Isu wood.

Only Isu core wood that has been dry for over 200 years has the color, hardness, solidness and superb balance which make this Sunuke Bokuto so highly appreciated in Japan among high ranked Sensei from different martial art schools.

The Sunuke had a very mystical background. In the old days, and even now in some parts of the Kyushu Island, the wood is considered as a good omen. It is called Furochoju No Ki, what means "perpetual youth and longevity tree".

Regrettably due to difficulty in obtaining it, as time passes it becomes more expensive and more difficult to offer.

*Due to the concerns for the health of our wooden workshop artisans, varnish will be replaced by wax for the finishing of all of wooden weapons.
