Owari Sukashi Katana
The Owari Sukashi Katana, a well-balanced samurai sword hand-forged of 51crv4 steel which meets the requirements of the modern martial arts practitioner.
Kaizen Sword Art produces some of the most impressive Japanese Katanas available today.
This is the Owari Sukashi Katana, a well-balanced samurai sword which meets the demands of the modern martial arts practitioner.
The steel was used for the hand-forged sword blade 51crv4. This is a carbon steel with optimal properties for sharpness retention, flexibility and hardness due to excellent tempering in the forge. The design is shinogi-zukuri with a chu-kissaki.
This through-hardened blade without a hamon features a bo-hi or longitudinal groove. This makes the blade lighter and faster and, with the correct techniques, causes a tachi-kaze.
Of course, the tsuka is fitted with genuine ray skin (same) so that the tightly wrapped ito of black cotton stays in place.
Secured with two mekugi or bamboo pins in the full-tang sword blade.
Thanks to a strong collaboration between our knowledge and the craft of Kaizen Swords, the quality is outstanding for both the discerning collector and the martial arts practitioner.
The Owari style tsuba are known for the openwork, beautifully fitted with matching fuchi and kashira.
