Folded steel & hamon

The blade is folded multiple times, creating a refined steel structure that contributes to the quality of the sword both visually and technically. The traditional differential hardening ( clay tempered ) finish develops a natural, clearly visible hamon along the edge.

This combination of folded T10 and HCS 1095 steel and hamon provides an excellent balance of hardness, flexibility, and durability—essential for controlled and safe use during tameshigiri.

Construction & handling

The katana features a classic shinogi-zukuri blade style, and the bo-hi provides speed and a swoosh with slashes. The 74.84cm nagasa is perfectly suited for traditional use, while the 27.5cm tsuka offers excellent control and balance.

The tsuka is finished with genuine black rayskin, tightly wound brown cotton ito, and fitted with two mekugi . The full-tang construction guarantees stability and reliability, even with intensive use.

Finishing & details

The Dragon Fly theme finish is echoed in the menuki , tsuba , and fuchi / kashira , crafted from blackened iron with a classic look. The brass habaki and seppa ensure a solid fit, while the matte black saya with brown sageo stylishly completes the look.
