Kaifu Katana + NBTHK
A mumei katana by the kaifu school from Edo period with NBTHK certificate.
I am pleased to present a well polished mumei katana by the kaifu school. Kaifu school was active in Awa Tokushima province, from middle Muromachi period. They made cut well blades. Most of them were called Katakriba style which is rather strong looking.
This is a beautiful samurai sword measuring 68,6 cm. The sori is 1,1 cm as one would expect of a sword from this time period. The kasane 6 mm.
The hada is a nice ko-itame hada. The hamon is suguha based with notare and gunome. On Shinogi Ji you can see some Tobiyaki. The bôshi is chu in size having some tobiyaki. The nakago is with two holes. This is a very nice polished sword with no problems. It is awarded NBTHJK NBT NBTHK Tokubetsu papers indicating its quality and the authenticity of the signature.
This sword comes with a very nice Edo period koshirae. All of the fittings are done in the handachi style with plants in shakudo. The tsuba is done in carved iron with oni, arrow and mon. The fuchi and kashira are made of iron in excellent condition. A very nice shakudo menuki. The habaki is double copper and a black Ishime Ji Saya.
The Katana comes in shirasaya and with Oshigata.
