The machete, cutting knife or Jungle knife is a necessary tool at Bushcraft and Survival. It is a very popular knife throughout the world due to its versatile functions. In appearance it is a large knife with a blade between 50 and 60 in length. You use the machete for cutting and cutting thick vegetation. So you use it as a jungle and a knife to pave your way through the junction, but in some parts of the world it is also used as a weapon.
You can find different names for the machete, such as parang and golok (from Malaysia and Indonesia), the houwer (Suriname) and bolo (Philippines).
